Welcome & Purpose

Welcome to Threadneedle Partners. We connect leading experts like you with clients who need clear, trusted insight into regulation, politics, and policy.

Your role is crucial: clients rely on your knowledge and experience to make informed decisions. This training outlines your responsibilities and the standards you must follow. At the end, you’ll confirm your understanding and agreement to these terms.

Your Role

Your Role as an Expert

As an expert, your job is to:

  • Share your experience and perspective.
  • Provide context and understanding, not investment advice.
  • Speak from your own knowledge, not speculation or rumours.

You are not here to:

  • Lobby, advocate, or influence decisions.
  • Offer legal, financial, or investment advice.
  • Act as a spokesperson for your current or former employer.
Standards

Confidentiality & Conduct

Everything discussed through Threadneedle is confidential.

  • Do not disclose client names or details outside of the consultation.
  • Do not share consultation content with colleagues, employers, or others.
  • Always act with professionalism, honesty, and respect.
Think of it as a trusted conversation—safe, professional, and private.
Compliance

Material Non‑Public Information (MNPI)

MNPI = information that is not public and could affect markets or company valuations.

Examples:

  • Upcoming mergers not yet announced.
  • Internal financial results.
  • Confidential government decisions before release.
Golden rule: If it isn’t public, don’t share it. If pressed for MNPI, politely decline and tell us.
Ethics

Bribery & Corruption

  • Never accept or offer gifts, favours, or side payments.
  • All fees are paid via Threadneedle Partners only.
  • If a client suggests direct payment or extra benefits → decline and notify us.
This protects both you and us.
Transparency

Conflicts of Interest

Transparency is essential. You must tell us if:

  • You have a current role that could conflict with the consultation.
  • You are subject to restrictions or confidentiality obligations.
  • You’re unsure—if in doubt, disclose.

If a project isn’t appropriate, we’ll reassign it—no problem.

GDPR

Data Protection & Privacy

  • We comply with GDPR and protect your information.
  • Don’t store or share client information outside the call.
  • Don’t record calls or save materials.
  • Treat client details as strictly private.
Best Practice

What a Good Consultation Looks Like

  • Clear & direct: answer based on what you know.
  • Honest: if you don’t know, say so.
  • Structured: explain your perspective simply.
  • Professional: be punctual, respectful, and focused.
Clients value clarity over speculation.
Safety First

Red Flags & When to Stop

Stop immediately if a client asks for:

  • Non‑public or confidential details.
  • Inside information from your employer or colleagues.
  • Anything that feels inappropriate.

If in doubt: pause, politely decline, and let us know. Your integrity matters more than finishing a session.
